At the Remembrance Day service, the Grades 1 to 4 sang two songs that were called "Peace Like a River" and "We Can Make a Difference".

By Leiland and Gavin

(Our whole school participated in this year's service on November 10th. The Kindergarten class said a poem, the Grade 5/6 class talked about the Winnipeg Falcons, and the Grade 7/8 class read the poems "In Flanders Field" and response. We also had one of our dad's, Sgt. Kachur talk to us about why it is important for us to remember on this day. ~ Mrs. Tervoort)

Halloween Activities

11/4/2015

Anthony was Jason from Friday the 13th. He won for scariest. He got a Frankenstein stuffy that makes noise. Brendan was a skeleton and his mom's friend thought he was creepy. Brendan was very happy to hear that. When Anthony went trick-or-treating he was a zombie grandpa instead of Jason. Brendan was sad to hear that. Brendan got tons of tasty chips that are going to last him a long time. Anthony got lots of candy and chips.

Last Friday was Halloween at school. I was a zombie. Kaitlyn was a leopard. The grade 5 to 8's got to dance and have fun in the gym. K to Gr. 4 watched a movie. The movie was Monsters Inc. We had a costume parade in the gym. The people who won were Tasha, Quinn, Anthony, Hailey, Jordan and Shaelynn. Lots of people brought candy to school so we got lots and lots of candy!

On Oct. 30th we watched Monsters Inc. I like this movie because it's funny, especially when Randall gets kicked by the kid.

Hailey was Evil Red Ridinghood. Reese was a devil. Reese gave out candy. She gave out lollipops and a chocolate bar. Hailey won a prize. It was a fun day. At the end of the day we watched a movie with the Grade 1/2 class and the Kindergarteners. We watched Monsters Inc. It was so much fun! We can't wait until next year!

(Our middle years Student Council planned our annual Halloween activities. In the afternoon, we had a costume parade. Each grade got to show off their costumes, and had the opportunity to win a prize for scariest, funniest and most original costumes. Then, the older students had a dance, with other activities, like a haunted "house", pin the brain on the monster, toilet paper mummies, xBox games, and a Halloween photo booth. The younger students watched the movie, "Monsters Inc.".  ~ Mrs. Tervoort)

QSP Magazine Sale

At our school, we have a magazine sale. What you do is sell magazines to other people. How many you sell helps you get a prize. If you sell one hundred you'll get an ipad mini with 32 gigabits. If you sell 75 you'll get a remote control minion. If you sell 2 magazines you'll get a spike thing. Also if you sell two you will get a tattoo. If you sell 10 you'll get a money maker. If you sell twenty you'll get a selfie stick. That's our magazine sale.

By Tasha Lee

(The magazine sale is our one main fundraiser for the year. Our students sell magazine subscriptions to family and friends, and our school gets some of the profit to go towards extra field trips or bonus activities!  ~ Mrs. Tervoort)
