The Science Gallery was the bomb! It had race tracks for cars, pull up chairs, photos and a mirror room. My group was Cole, Michael and me. We had Cole's mom as the leader and we went on a pirate ship. My favourite part was the Science Gallery and when we learned about wrapping mummies/carrots.

On June 23, 2016, we went to the Manitoba Museum in Winnipeg to learn about Ancient Egypt. We learned about mummification. Then we wrapped a carrot to make a mummy.

We went to the Manitoba Museum. We went into groups. My group was Gavin, Chris, Nathan and Gavin's mom. Our favourite part of the museum was the town with the movie theatre, the dentist, the drug store and creepy bedrooms. The scariest part was a doll that moved its head. We had lunch after, then went to the Science Gallery. We played for an hour. My favourite part of the science lab was the hall of mirrors and the race track. We went to a room and saw electric magic!

(The Manitoba Museum is a wonderful place to go for a curriculum-based field trip! Our morning began with a self-guided tour of the museum, followed by a presentation about Ancient Egypt, where we learned about their everyday lives, as well as how the mummification process worked. We then had a break for lunch. In the afternoon, we had time to explore the Science Gallery with all of its hands-on activities, followed with a presentation about Forces that Attract and Repel. We ended the day by stopping for ice cream on the way back to school! This field trip was a great way to review some of the things that we had learned this year, in both our Science and Social Studies...and who doesn't love ice cream? ~ Mrs. Tervoort)
